GDPR Compliance Statement
Introduction
The UK General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”) comes into force on 01/01/21 and supersedes the EU GDPR, although it is essentially the same law as the European GDPR, only changed to accommodate domestic areas of law. Based on privacy by design and taking a risk-based approach, the GDPR has been designed to meet the requirements of the digital age.
Our Commitment
Intermedical UK Ltd. is committed to ensuring the security and protection of the personal information that we process, and to provide a compliant and consistent approach to data protection. We have always had a robust and effective data protection program in place which complied with the previous regulation and abides by the data protection principles. However, we recognise our obligations, and our program meets the demands of the UK GDPR
Intermedical UK Ltd. is dedicated to safeguarding the personal information under our remit and have developed a data protection regime that is effective, fit for purpose and demonstrates an understanding of, and appreciation for the new Regulation. Our actions for UK GDPR compliance have been summarised in this statement and include the development and implementation of new data protection roles, policies, procedures, controls, and measures to ensure maximum and ongoing compliance.
Intermedical UK Ltd. have a consistent level of data protection and security across our organisation, and it is our aim to be remain fully compliant with the UK GDPR with the inclusion of a Data Protection procedure included in the organizations Quality Management system.
UK GDPR Roles
Intermedical UK Ltd have designated Christopher Harris as our Appointed Person to ensure compliance with the data protection Regulation. He is responsible for promoting awareness of the UK GDPR across the organization, and implementing the required policies, procedures, and measures.
Intermedical UK Ltd understands that continuous employee awareness and understanding is vital to the continued compliance of the UK GDPR. We have implemented an employee training program specific to the requirement which has been and will be provided to all employees, and forms part of our induction and training program.
