Charlie Edinburgh Saves a Life and Inspires Change

At Defib Supplies, we couldn’t be prouder to support the Justin Edinburgh 3 Foundation and its incredible work under Charlie Edinburgh’s leadership. Recently, Charlie showed the world exactly why access to defibrillators and CPR training saves lives, by stepping in to help save a friend’s life on the golf course.

Charlie, son of the late football legend Justin Edinburgh, was playing golf with their friends from their charity partnerships Echo Sixty One Events when one of them suddenly collapsed. Thanks to Charlie’s quick thinking and training, he and his friends Darren Sheen and Jamie Weir immediately performed CPR and used a nearby defibrillator at the clubhouse around 200 yards away. Within 3-4 minutes, the Progetti Rescue SAM defibrillator, supplied by us at Defib Supplies, was on the patient and their actions restarted the man’s heart after the first shock and continued CPR.

Thank you to Charlie and his friend’s actions the patient is alive today and is currently in hospital awaiting a stent and an internal defibrillator. This isn’t just a remarkable personal story, it’s a powerful reminder of why the JE3 Foundation was created and why their mission matters.

Turning Tragedy Into Change

The Justin Edinburgh 3 Foundation was born from heartbreak after Justin’s sudden cardiac arrest in 2019. Charlie vowed that his father’s death would not be in vain. He has since worked tirelessly to ensure others have a better chance of survival.

Through the foundation, Charlie and his team have:

  • Donated defibrillators to grassroots sports clubs, community centres, and public spaces across the UK

  • Delivered CPR and AED training sessions to empower everyday people to step in during an emergency

  • Launched campaigns to raise awareness of cardiac arrest and the importance of early defibrillation

  • Advocated for Justin’s Law, calling for mandatory public access defibrillators in all UK health and sports facilities
